Tri-Running is Lafayette, Louisiana’s only running, walking and multi-sport specialty store. At Tri-Running, we perform a video gait analysis to determine the best shoe for your unique bio-mechanics and stride (gait).  Our fitting process begins with a videotape of you running or walking on a treadmill to determine what your feet are specifically doing with each stride.  Many runners and walkers over-pronate, which occurs when your arch is allowed to collapse excessively, allowing too much inward rotation. This puts pressure on your knees, hips, shins, etc, and causes many common running injuries.  Another cause of injury is running in the incorrect type of shoes for your feet. Fortunately, these problems are fairly easy to solve with a supportive pair of shoes or an over the counter orthotic device.

By utilizing a video gait analysis of your gait, Tri-Running has proven that the correct shoe can make all the difference for a person’s health and comfort. regardless of his or her age, shape, size or level of conditioning.

Why should you be professionally fit for running or walking shoes?

Do I need an appointment for a gait analysis?
No appointment is necessary during the week, but is required on Saturdays.  Please keep in mind that in order to provide each customer with a thorough video gait analysis, the process will take between 10-15 minutes.  That said; please understand that you might have to wait for your video analysis if the store is busy during the week.

How to decide on a pair of shoes
This is the fun part. Once our staff has determined which type of shoe works best for you, all you have to worry about is comfort. Usually you will have a couple of good choices for your foot type, so you can let comfort be your guide.
